After some extensive research, headed up by Paul Stretch, we have finally been able to work out when the very first Hertfordshire Scouts & Guides Introduction To The Hills (ITTH) event was held.
Thank you to everyone who helped in our search for this prestigious time in history, lots of people contributed snippets of information, which together indicated that 1983 was the likely date of the first ever ITTH. Armed with this information, Jeff Robson kindly checked the back copies of ‘Hertfordshire Scouts & Guides’ magazine and found that the earliest reference to ITTH was indeed for 28 May – 4 June 1983!
So this year we are going to be celebrating in style !!
